Before I show you the birthday quilt, i though I'd include my second attempt at pleated log cabin.
This time I made another cushion cover using one large block. It measures about 40cm square. This one is for me and I have one more to make which will be a xmas pressie for one of the girls I work with.
It is called ' I Can't Believe It's a Beginner' by Margot Languedoc of http://www.thepatternbasket.com.
It is made mostly with Bound To The Prairie 2 fabrics. I made it at http://www.cottageonthehill.com.au
I think that it is very dark and masculine, which is the effect I had hoped to achieve.

We missed you Patch, you will have to get a laptop to keep in touch with us......
The cushion looks great and the quilt, well, just magnificant.
Very masculine. What about No. 2 Son, does he want one now?
hey nice to know it was all finished for the birthday.....love the pillow also......will have to have a go at this.......maybe in Jan school holidays........
What a beautiful quilt for a boy. You have done a good job. I hope your son was happy with it. I like your cushion too. My 2 sisters have birthdays one day apart and 4 years. It is always a busy birthday time in our family.
What a warm and wonderful quilt. I know he'll treasure it.
